book , audio tracks, text
Limits is a project the aim of which is to explore the possibility of a connection between image and sound. The place (COORDINATES) is the starting point, a photograph is taken in a specific location and from this image a contour line is extracted. The line marks the division between everything that is concrete and tangible (LIMIT) from everything that is space. The extracted line is translated into sound using a computer program that converts the delineation into a series of (SOUND)s. Aside from all the technical data (COORDINATE), (LIMIT) and (SOUND), the (DESCRIPTION) only gives us an impression of the original scene, leaving our imagination free to fill in all the gaps. The major theme in this work is Warsaw, except for a single (LIMIT) which was taken in the south of Poland and which is the only natural (LIMIT) in the series.
