CINEOT // IHGAES

PROJECT BY I have got an empty space collective
2019 // Modena
VIdeo Art Festival

I Have Got an Empty Space collective (Erik Campanini, Jacopo Noera, Isabella Nardon) started its first series of interventions and activities in Modena at 19 Carteria Street, hosted and funded by the Inkonnection Tattoo Studio.

"Building a dialogue with the host space means for us to interact sensitively with its function and structure, in this first case it is an entrance. The entrance, the subtle dance between waiting and disengagement."

Cineot is a traveling video art festival during which the entrance of Inkonnection was set up like the entrance of a movie theater, where the public could find informative materials and official posters showing the interventions that took place in different locations around the city. I have got an empty space curated both the program of the festival and the interventions of each of the seven selected artists, pairing them with the most appropriate places and designing the related surroundings. Each artist was also assigned a graphic designer with whom to collaborate on the posters for their intervention. Through the use of a few narrative elements we wanted to synthesize a waiting room and ticket office inspired by the colorful atmospheres of 1960s-80s cinemas.
